Little Savior
I wandered deep into the darkest forest
To set it alight, to burn the night
But you drew me back
Begged that I may come back to light
And when I screamed
a wolf’s cry in the dark
your tiny trinket hands
clung to me like bark
Whispering your love like fog
you sedated the wood
Hushing my thousand voices
Bringing back the good
I faltered, yet still you fluttered
your little lively heart – blessing me,
setting my eyes
upon the tallest tree
So we climbed up and traced
the way the leafy veins run
and with baby blanket wings
leapt into the sun
