I met with Chanel, the founder of the organic skincare company, Back 2 Nature, to talk about their remarkable, cruelty-free products. The aim of her company is to do exactly as the name states – to inspire people to go back to nature. Chanel strives to take all the raw and healing qualities from nature and use it in her products; thus enhancing the overall health, wellness and mindfulness of her consumers. She is passionate about using sustainable vegan ingredients while ensuring no chemicals, parabens or preservatives are added. Her glowing, fresh face is a true testament to the effectiveness of her products!
I especially love that all the products are handmade in Cape Town. The water used in creating these natural products comes from the Newlands spring, fed by the water on Table Mountain. Back 2 Nature also uses glass instead of plastic as to have as little negative impact on the environment as possible. A percentage of their products are put back to nature into a non-profit ocean conservation organization. Just as there are a myriad of things to love about nature itself, there are so many reasons to love this nature-loving company!

Surf Zinc
Since I spend so much time in the sun and sea, sun protection is crucial! I love this sunscreen as it is water resistant and provides amazing protection from the sun. It goes on as a paste, yet once you put it on you cannot see that you’ve put anything on your face. This product is a must-have since it contains Zinc Oxide which is considered one of the best ingredients in sunscreen. It also contains many natural, nourishing oils which are not only good for your skin, but smell delicious too! Another amazing thing about it is that it is biodegradable and ocean friendly.
Lip food
This lip balm goes on smoothly and you can instantly feel the difference. Amongst other things, it contains Coconut oil, shea butter and essential oils and is certified organic! This is a great remedy for dry, chapped lips or just for everyday use.
Oatmeal, Rooibos & Clay face wash
I have really been enjoying this gently exfoliating face wash. Besides using it daily, you can also leave it on your skin for 1 – 2 minutes as little face mask. One of the great aspects of this face wash is that it contains bentonite clay which draws toxins out of the skin.
Cleansing & nourishing face food
This day cream contains some very desirable ingredients like Vitamin E and lavender. The aloe vera, shea butter and jojoba oil also ensure that it hydrates and feeds your skin. It genuinely leaves your skin feeling moisturized and not dry at all. Though it is a small bottle, it lasts really long! This anti-oxidant rich face cream is a must in my day to day routine.
